Possible Wire Fraud

How to Report Drift’s Insurance Fund Plan as Potential Wire Fraud to the FBI’s IC3

If Drift proceeds with the Recovery Plan announced on May 5th (redirecting the Insurance Fund to non-contributors via a “community vote”), many users and analysts believe it meets every element of federal wire fraud (18 U.S.C. § 1343):Scheme to defraud

Use of interstate wires (tweets, Discord, on-chain votes)

Material misrepresentations

Intent and harm to IF holders

Anyone who believes they are a victim or witness can (and should) file a complaint:Go to https://www.ic3.gov

Click “File a Complaint” (it’s free, secure, and takes ~10–15 minutes)

Select “Financial Crime / Investment Fraud” or “Other” and describe the facts:Drift’s May 5th announcement & Recovery Plan link

Prior public assurances that the Insurance Fund was safe

The proposed vote to redirect funds

Your wallet address / holdings if you held IF exposure

Attach screenshots, links, and on-chain evidence

The more detailed complaints the FBI receives, the higher the priority. You do not need a lawyer to file, and IC3 forwards every qualifying complaint to the appropriate FBI field office.
